ITA Rewards Women’s Tennis, Seven Rams for Academics

ITA RELEASE ITA SCHOLAR-ATHLETES | ITA ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM 

TEMPE, Ariz. – Suffolk women's tennis received academic accolades from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) once again as the squad was named an ITA All-Academic Team in addition to seven Rams – Nia BebbRachel HillElene NishnianidzeChloe Pszenny, Aastha ShahMegha Tenneti, and Caren Urbano, --- who garnered ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction, the national organization announced.  

To qualify as an ITA All-Academic Team, a program must have a cumulative team grade point average of 3.2 or above on a 4.0 scale, with each eligible player's average accounted for in the calculation. 

As a unit, the blue-and-gold posted a 3.726 GPA over 2024-25 en route to Suffolk's fifth straight ITA Academic Team Award and eighth overall. The Rams were one of three Conference of New England (CNE) institutions recognized alongside Roger Williams and Western New England, who were a part of the 165 programs to pick up the feat. Seven Suffolk student-athletes achieved the requirement of a 3.5 grade point average over the academic year to take home the individual recognition. Hill secured the distinction for the third time in her career in as many seasons. She is the fourth Ram with three ITA Scholar-Athlete awards first since Barbara Consales and Bianca Prescott earned their fourth in 2022-23.Bebb and Urbano were repeat honorees. Nishniandize, Pszenny, Shah and Tenneti, meanwhile, took home the nod for the first time in their collegiate careers.  

Suffolk's seven selections set a program record, upstaging the previous mark of six, which was achieved a year ago. Overall, 24 Rams have accounted for 44 ITA Scholar-Athlete achievements in the program's record books with the first such award coming in 2014-15. 

The seven individuals from Suffolk were the most among its CNE counterparts as Roger Williams and Western New England saw six and five recipients, respectively, for a total of 18 league representatives on the list that featured 1,269 NCAA DIII athletes. For the complete breakdown, click here.
