BOSTON – Suffolk women's indoor track & field had a standout showing at the John Thomas Terrier Classic as six rewrote personal records, two qualified for New Englands and another etched her name in the Rams record book at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center Friday.
RAMS RECORDS
- Amalia Dorion became the second-ever Suffolk women's indoor track & field athlete to run a sub-5:00.0 mile as she coasted to a 4:57.77 in the event. She is the first blue-and-gold women runner to hit the feat since Emily Manfra did so in 2019-20.
QUALIFIERS
- Amanda Walden punched her ticket to regionals in the 400 with a sub-1:00.0 showing.
- Amy Pattelena clinched her spot at New Englands in the mile.
PERSONAL-BEST
- The duo of JJ Conteh (26.46) and Hilma Ortega (27.94) each rewrote their career-best in the 200.
- Kaylie Groom reset her 400 personal-best with a 1:03.06.
- Pattelena's mile regional-qualifying time of 5:13.78 was a personal-best for the junior.
- Sofia Moukaddem sealed a career-high in the 3,000 of 10:31.78.
RAMS RUNNERS
- Conteh clocked a 7.96 in the 60 dash to claim sixth in the 48-runner field that also featured Ortega, who finished 27th behind an 8.28 showing.
- Conteh (26.46), Ortega (27.49) and Emily Concepcion (27.63) all made half a lap around the track in the 200.
- Walden highlighted the Rams runners in the 400 with a time of 59.65 to take 31st in the 81-runner field. Concepcion (1:00.53) was in the middle of the pack in 43rd and Kaylie Groom (1:03.06) locked up 68th.
- Dorion (4:57.77) and Pattelena (5:13.78) represented the Rams in the mile against some of the fastest NCAA Division I student-athletes.
- Moukaddem put together a 10:31.78 in the 3k.
- Catherine Madden secured seventh in the 60 hurdles with a 10.07.
RAMS RELAYS
- The foursome of Walden, Kaylie Groom, Shannon Groom and Emily Concepcion combined for a 4:15.11 in the 4x400.

Suffolk wraps up its weekend today, Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Harvard Invitational.
