Dorion Nabs USTFCCCA All-East Region Nod
For the second time in Suffolk women’s outdoor track & field history, a Rams was acknowledged for her athletic performance regionally as Amalia Dorion grabbed All-East status from the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
NEW ORLEANS – For the second time in Suffolk women's outdoor track & field history, a Rams was acknowledged for her athletic performance regionally as Amalia Dorion grabbed All-East status from the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
The distinction goes to the top-5 individuals in each event from each region in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team following the conclusion of the regular season.
Dorion, who brought her talents to Beacon Hill as a graduate student, took home the feat in the 1500 behind her 4:28.44 effort at MIT's Final Qualifier May 15, which also punched her ticket to the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships in Geneva, Ohio May 22-24.
It is the first all-region recognition for Suffolk's women's outdoor track & field team since Caitlyn Filloramo received the distinction in 2022.
The Conference of New England (CNE) saw a dozen female student-athletes combine for 17 all-region honors. In addition to Dorion, Hartford (6), GordoN 95), Endicott (3) and Roger Williams (2) were represented as well.
