NEW LONDON, CONN. – Kelsie Dessaps broke the program record in the long jump to highlight the Suffolk women's outdoor track & field team's performance at the Silfen Invitational, held at the Silfen Track in New London, Connecticut on April 10-11.
RAMS RUNNERS
- The 100 was highlighted by JJ Conteh, who placed sixth in 12.70 to qualify for the finals before finishing fifth in 12.61. Hilma Ortega (12.93), Rhoni Johnson (13.07), Olivia Coyne (13.97), and Aida Bellal (14.38) also competed in the event.
- Averie Denelle represented Suffolk in the 100m hurdles, finishing 12th in 18.51.
- Kaylie Groom paced the Rams with a 12th-place finish in the 200 in 27.19, followed by Coyne in 29.03.
- Over one lap in the 400, Kaylie Groom placed 11th with a time of 1:03.37.
- In the 800, Cassandra Silkoff turned in a fifth-place finish in 2:32.18. Allison Martin (2:41.20) and Maria Gallant (3:13.02) followed.
- Suffolk saw a strong showing in the 1500, led by Chloe Koo, who placed third in 5:11.55, followed by Megan Dunn (5:21.33), Gina Cappello (5:27.13), and Bailey Ford (5:32.03).
JUMPERS JIST
- Dessaps leaped 5.02 meters to place third in the long jump.
- Denelle cleared 1.52 meters in the high jump to take second place.
- The triple jump featured Bailey Stoddard-Baughman, who recorded a mark of 9.49 meters to place 10th.
FIELDERS FACTS
- Divinety Johnson heaved the hammer 39.04 meters to place seventh. Hannah Laderoute trailed with a toss of 34.65 meters.
- In the discus, Johnson placed fourth with a mark of 30.81 meters, as Laderoute added a throw of 27.54 meters.
- Abby MacMillan launched the javelin 21.82 meters to place 24th.
RAMS RECORDS
- Dessaps set a program record in the long jump with a mark of 5.02 meters.
- Johnson (39.04m) and Laderoute (34.65m) each recorded personal-best marks in the hammer throw.
- Laderoute set a personal-best in the discus with a throw of 27.54 meters.
- Dunn (5:21.33) and Cappello (5:27.13) each posted personal-best times in the 1500.
- Groom (27.19) and Coyne (29.03) each recorded personal-best times in the 200.
- Conteh recorded a personal-best time of 12.61 in the 100 finals.

- Denelle made her first appearance in a Suffolk uniform in the 100m hurdles.
- Stoddard-Baughman made her first collegiate outdoor appearance in the triple jump.
