Women’s Track & Field Delivers Strong Weekend at Silfen Invitational 

NEW LONDON, CONN. – Kelsie Dessaps broke the program record in the long jump to highlight the Suffolk women's outdoor track & field team's performance at the Silfen Invitational, held at the Silfen Track in New London, Connecticut on April 10-11.

JUMPERS JIST

  • Dessaps leaped 5.02 meters to place third in the long jump.
  • Denelle cleared 1.52 meters in the high jump to take second place.
  • The triple jump featured Bailey Stoddard-Baughman, who recorded a mark of 9.49 meters to place 10th.

FIELDERS FACTS

  • Divinety Johnson heaved the hammer 39.04 meters to place seventh. Hannah Laderoute trailed with a toss of 34.65 meters.
  • In the discus, Johnson placed fourth with a mark of 30.81 meters, as Laderoute added a throw of 27.54 meters.
  • Abby MacMillan launched the javelin 21.82 meters to place 24th.

RAMS RECORDS

  • Dessaps set a program record in the long jump with a mark of 5.02 meters.
  • Johnson (39.04m) and Laderoute (34.65m) each recorded personal-best marks in the hammer throw.
  • Laderoute set a personal-best in the discus with a throw of 27.54 meters.
  • Dunn (5:21.33) and Cappello (5:27.13) each posted personal-best times in the 1500.
  • Groom (27.19) and Coyne (29.03) each recorded personal-best times in the 200.
  • Conteh recorded a personal-best time of 12.61 in the 100 finals.
