Women’s Track & Field Collects Fifth Place Finish at CNE Championships
Suffolk women’s outdoor track & field placed fifth at the 2026 Conference of New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Brigham Athletic Complex, as Grace Miller claimed the conference title in the 3000 steeplechase and the Rams added multiple top finishes along with career-best performances across the meet.
WENHAM, Mass. – Suffolk women's outdoor track & field placed fifth at the 2026 Conference of New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Brigham Athletic Complex, as Grace Miller claimed the conference title in the 3000 steeplechase and the Rams added multiple top finishes along with career-best performances across the meet.
Hartford captured the team title with 181 points, followed by Gordon (145), Johnson & Wales (125.50), Endicott (100), Suffolk (71), Roger Williams (31.50), Western New England (31), University of New England (27), Wentworth (16), and Nichols (13).
CNE CHAMPIONS
Suffolk claimed gold medals in one event:
- 3000 Steeplechase – Grace Miller (11:19.04)
ALL-CNE HONORS
Suffolk student athletes who placed first (gold medalist), second (silver medalist) or third (bronze medalists) in an event earned all-conference first-team, second-team, and third-team honors.
- One All-CNE First-Team – Grace Miller (3000 steeplechase)
- One All-CNE Second-Team – Sofia Moukaddem (1500 and 5000)
- Two All-CNE Third-Team – Tess Drury (5000), Cassandra Silkoff (800)
RAMS RUNNERS
- The 100 saw JJ Conteh lead Suffolk in fourth at 12.63, followed by Hilma Ortega (9th, 13.10), Rhoni Johnson (10th, 13.10), and Aida Bellal (27th, 14.28)
- In the 100m hurdles, Ortega placed fifth in 16.11, with Bailey Stoddard-Baughman in seventh in 16.37.
- Kaylie Groom finished fifth in the 400 with a time of 1:00.95.
- Cassandra Silkoff earned a bronze-medal finish in the 800, placing third in 2:24.68.
- The 1500 featured a runner-up finish from Sofia Moukaddem in 4:41.80, followed by Chloe Koo (8th, 5:05.08), Megan Dunn (14th, 5:12.08), and Ava Buckley (19th, 5:26.87).
- Conteh placed 10th in 26.63 in the 200, Johnson followed in 12th at 26.88, and Groom finished 19th in 27.81.
- Jaenelle Bryant placed 14th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:19.60.
- In the 5000, Moukaddem added another runner-up finish in 17:19.42 with Tess Drury crossing in third at 17:57.85. Paige Estaphan (11th, 19:28.18), Gina Cappello (19th, 20:18.46), and Bailey Ford (21st, 20:43.39) rounded out the group.
RAM'S RELAYS
- The 4x100 team of Conteh, Ortega, Kelsie Dessaps, and Johnson placed fourth in 49.41
- Silkoff, Koo, Shannon Groom, and Kaylie Groom put together a 4:19.85 finish in the 4x400 relay for an 8th place finish.
JUMPERS JIST
- Averie Denelle cleared 1.56 meters in the high jump to place fourth.
- In the pole vault, Evelyne Smith finished 11th at 2.45 meters, Molly Hennegan placed 13th at 2.30 meters, and Olivia Coyne took 14th at 2.15 meters.
- The long jump saw Dessaps place eighth at 4.96 meters, with Stoddard-Baughman in ninth at 4.88 meters and Evelyn Lansing in 19th at 4.55 meters.
FIELDERS FACTS
- Hannah Laderoute led Suffolk in the javelin with a ninth-place throw of 29.73 meters. Abby MacMillan traield in 20th at 22.25 meters.
- In the hammer throw, Divinety Johnson placed eighth with a heave of 36.95 meters, Laderoute came in ninth at 36.21 meters, and Emily Millan finished 23rd at 24.47 meters.
- Laderoute also posted a personal-best 30.99 meters in the discus to place eighth, with Johnson finishing 10th at 29.34 meters.
RAMS RECORDS
- Miller set a CNE Championship record in the 3000 steeplechase (11:19.04) and became the first Suffolk athlete to win the event.
- Moukaddem recorded personal-best times in both the 1500 (4:41.80) and 5000 (17:19.42).
- Silkoff (2:24.68) delivered a personal-best performances in the 800.
- Koo turned in a collegiate best time in the 1500 (5:05.08)
- Drury recorded a career day in the 5000 (17:57.85)
- Stoddard-Baughman set a personal-best 16.37 in the 100m hurdles and 4.88 meters in the long jump.
- Bryant ran a personal-best 1:19.60 in the 400m hurdles.
- Laderoute posted career marks in the javelin (29.73m) and discus (30.99m).
