Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Pair Picks Up USTFCCCA All-Region

USTFCCCA RELEASE

NEW ORLEANS – Suffolk women's outdoor track & field saw two Rams scoop up U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association All-East distinction in Grace Miller and Sofia Moukaddem, the national organization announced. Miller was acknowledged for her 3000 Steeplechase performance, while Moukaddem grabbed two awards in the 5000 and 10,000, respectively.

The distinction goes to the top-5 individuals in each event from each region in addition to each of the members of the top-3 ranked relay teams following the conclusion of the regular season.

It is the third time in program history that a Ram was acknowledged for their outdoor athletic performance regionally and first since Amalia Dorion earned the recognition a year ago in the 1500. Miller and Moukaddem become the first-ever teammates to pick up the nod in the same season, while the latter is the first-ever Suffolk student-athlete to receive a pair of accolades in the same season.

Miller, who brought her talents to Beacon Hill as a graduate student, took home the feat in the 3000 Steeplechase behind her 11:00.72 effort at The F.I.R.E Meet at Williams May 8, which also set the program record in the event. That time finished the year third in the east.

Moukaddem, meanwhile, was the region's runner-up in the 10,000 as she raced to a time of 35:20.76 at the 2026 Bryan Clay Invitational. That time not only is a program-best, but secured the junior's spot at nationals as well. In the 5000, she was fifth in the East behind a time of 17:19.42, which she achieved at the Conference England Championships April 24.

The CNE saw 14 female student-athletes combine for 18 all-region honors. In addition to Suffolk's duo, Hartford (9), Endicott (3), Gordon (3) and Roger Williams (1) were represented as well.

Moukaddem wraps up her individual and Suffolk's season tonight, Thursday, May 21 at NCAAs where the Weston, Massachusetts product will compete in the 10,000 at 7:30 p.m. at Roger Harring Stadium at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
