BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk women's volleyball had two players pick up Conference of New England (CNE) weekly awards as Kathy Mo was named CNE Libero of the Week and Emmy Thomander took home CNE Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Mo was instrumental to Suffolk's backline, while Thomander was dominant in the front line to push the Rams to a 3-1 week en route to their first collegiate weekly accolades.

Mo, a sophomore that hails from Quincy, Massachusetts, averaged 5.12 digs, 0.611 aces and 0.555 assists per set. Her best performance coming in the five-set thrilling triumph at Framingham State where she recorded a personal-best 34 digs to go along with two aces and two handouts.

Thomander, a freshman from Mountain View, California, got better as the week went on to average 2.28 kps behind a .301 attack clip and 0.94 blocks per set. She as a force at the net in the sweep of Southern Maine with a career-high seven blocks. She was critical in the program's first-ever win over Rhode Island College as she posted a career-high 17 kills on a 4.14 attack percentage to help push Suffolk to victory. The middle blocker wrapped up the week with her second double-digit kill performance in as many matches and in her collegiate career as she provided 16 on a h.375 hitting clip versus Worcester State.

It is the first time Suffolk had multiple players earn weekly distinctions over the same seven-day span since Oct. 2, 2022 when Grace Cervenka and Kenzley Bell were named rookie and libero of the week, respectively. Mo is the first CNE Libero of the Week since Morgan Kelsey, Sept. 16, 2024, while Thomander is the first Rookie of the week since Cervenka collected the feat Oct. 31, 2022.

Suffolk will now turn its attention to its CNE calendar that starts Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. when Johnson & Wales stops by Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court
