SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Suffolk women's volleyball was taken down in straight sets by Swarthmore Saturday morning at the Swarthmore Invitational at the Tarble Pavilion.
THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Suffolk fell down 8-3 and found itself trailing double digits, 19-9. The Rams only managed to must three more points out of a timeout and the Garnet grabbed the first frame, 25-12.
- Suffolk shot in front early, 4-1. Swarthmore stormed back and leveled the playing field at 7-all. The scored locked twice more with the last at 15-all. From there, the host outscored the blue-and-gold 10-5, to send the Ram down 2-0 in the match.
- After a see-saw opening to the third, Swarthmore took control, 12-8, and Scott Blanchard used a timeout. The scoring evened out of the huddle and the Rams remained in a 16-13 hole. The Garnet poured in four unanswered to make it 20-13 in its favor. The teams traded five points the rest of the way to keep the set and match in Swarthmore's favor, 25-18.
STATISTCALLY SPEAKING
- Emmy Thomander tallied five kills to lead the Rams' attack. The freshman added one block and one dig to the defense.
- Chloe Clement registered 10 digs and four kills.
- Emily Norgrove notched three kills, one ace and one dig.
- Mackenzie Heaney had seven digs, two kills and one handout.
- Aislinn Lanigan produced a 12-assist, 11-dig double-double with two kills and one ace.
NOTEWORHTY
- Suffolk and Swarthmore me for the first time.
- Lanigan produced her fifth collegiate double-double, fourth of the season.

Suffolk wraps up play at the Swarthmore Invitational this afternoon at 3 p.m. against Stockton.
