Women’s Volleyball Fell to Gordon in Home Finale, 3-0

BOSTON – Suffolk women's volleyball played in front of Ram Nation at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court for the finale time in 2025 Wednesday night, however, Gordon soured the match as the Fighting Scots swept the Rams in Conference of New England (CNE) action. The straight set loss came by set scores 25-14, 25-17 and 25-22.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 0 | Gordon 3
RECORDS: Suffolk (10-15, 4-4 CNE) | Gordon (16-8, 4-3 CNE)

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Gordon flew in front, 8-2, after it poured in the first four points of the night. The Rams pulled within three, 12-9. The Fighting Scots used a 7-2 run to soar in front, 20-11. Despite a pair of Chloe Clement kills and a Sami Shore block down the stretch, Gordon managed to walk away with the opening set win, 25-14.
  • Suffolk faced an early 5-1 edge, but managed to get the deficit down to three, 10-7. Grace CervenkaEmmy Thomander and Shore supplied kills in that comeback. The Fighting Scots' 9-3 run put the blue-and-gold in a nine-point, 19-10 hole. Suffolk scored five unanswered to trim the gap to four, 19-15. That rally was sparked by a Shore block and featured kills from Emily Norgrove and Mackenzie Heaney, respectively. That's as close as the Rams would get as the visitors outscored the host 5-2 the rest of the way to secure the second stanza, 25-17.
  • In a set that featured three lead exchanges and a dozen ties, action was locked at 20-all. Gordon managed to muster three points in a row that forced Scott Blanchard to take his second and final timeout of the third. Norgrove and Clement knocked down kills to trim the gap to one, 23-22, but back-to-back Rams' errors allowed the Fighting Scots to clinch the set, 25-22, and match.
