SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Suffolk women's volleyball wrapped up its 2025 regular season in sweeping fashion as it took down Western New England, 3-0, Wednesday night at the Anthony S. Capario Alumni Healthful Living Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Down 3-1 early, Suffolk battled back and managed to even things at 6-all, before it grabbed the advantage, 7-6. The go-ahead run featured three kills by Chloe Clement and a block by Sami Shore and Sam Michon. The Rams managed to stretch their cushion to six, 15-9. The Golden Bears made things interesting as they outscored the blue-and-gold, 16-1, to level the playing field at 15. The scored locked at 16 before Suffolk rattled off four unanswered as kills by Shore and Grace Cervenka sandwiched back-to-back aces by Kathy Mo that gave the visitors a 20-16 lead. Action resembled a see-saw the rest of the opening set that ended in Suffolk's favor, 25-19.
- Suffolk poured in the first five points of the second behind two kills by Michon, who combined for a block with shore, as well as an Emily Norgrove kill and an ace from Aislinn Lanigan. WNE inched back and pulled within two, 8-6, before the host locked things at 12-all, which forced Scott Blanchard to take a timeout. From there, matters leveled four times with the last at 16. Three straight Rams points gave the visitors a slim 19-16 edge and the Golden Bears used a timeout. Out of the break, the host managed to keep things interesting and the stanza tied at 24-all. The Rams rallied out of their second time out of the frame and Clement's seventh kill of the night was followed by a Golden Bears attack error that gave the set to Suffolk, 26-24.
- The third frame featured 10 tied scores and six lead exchanges. At 19-all, Suffolk managed to compiled a quick 3-1 spurt thanks to a WNE service error and kills by Shore and Norgrove to sneak in front, 22-20. The foes went point-for-point the rest of the way, which allowed the blue-and-gold to secure the set, 25-22, and match.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Clement recorded nine kills on a .429 hitting percentage with 12 digs, two aces and two blocks.
- Shore tallied eight kills behind a .429 attack clip. The sophomore's stat line featured three blocks and two digs as well.
- Cervenka chipped in four kills, three aces, four digs, two blocks and one assist.
- Michon added four kills, two blocks and one dig.
- Norgrove regisetered four kills, five digs, and one ace.
- Lanigan and Delaney More directed the Rams' attack with 15 handouts and 10 assists, respectively. The former pitched in seven digs, one ace and one kill as well, while the latter added seven digs.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk evened the series at 7-all.
- Suffolk defeated Western New England for the first time since Oct. 9, 2024.
- The sweep is the Rams second-ever 3-0 win over the Golden Bears, first since Oct. 13, 2021.
- On the road, the blue-and-gold is now 3-3 against WNE.
- Suffolk is 6-1 under Blanchard's guidance versus Western New England, 5-1 since joining the CNE.

Suffolk has concluded its regular season and will await the official release of the 2025 CNE Women's Volleyball Tournament Bracket, that will be unveiled following the conclusion of regular-season league play Saturday, Nov. 8.
