Cross Country to Race Six Times in 2023

BOSTON – Suffolk men's and women's cross country has a half dozen events over 12 weeks in 2023, head coach Will Feldman announced.
For the third straight season, action will get underway at the Suffolk Short Course Classic. The Rams will race at Franklin Park for the first of three times in 2023 in the campaign opener Friday, Sept. 1.
Two weeks later, the blue-and-gold treks to New Gloucester Maine for the Bates Invitational at Pineland Farms before it wraps up September action on the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the Paul Short Run.
Suffolk is idle for two weeks to prep for its flagship event, the Suffolk Invitational, Saturday, Oct. 14 at Franklin Park.
Not only does the Suffolk Invite, which is in its fifth year, serve as a final tune-up before ethe Rams race on the championship courses, it also duels as the Battle for Boston Commons, a head-to-head clash between Beantown rivals, the Rams and the Lions of Emerson. The blue-and-gold has taken home the title in the friendly neighbor competition since its inception in 2018.
Championship season commences at the CCC Championship Saturday, Oct. 29 at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. The Rams' women look to threepeat, while the men look to hoist the trophy for the first time in program history after a runner-up finish a year ago.
Once a conference champion is crowned, Suffolk's sights turn to regionals where the Rams will play host for the second time in University history, first since 2021. The blue-and-gold welcome the best-of-the-best from Maine, New Hampshire and Eastern Massachusetts to Franklin Park Saturday, Nov. 11 for NCAA Division III East Regionals.
With a top five finish at regionals, Suffolk be in the conversation for an at large bid to the 2023 NCAA Division III Championship, which is on tap for Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Big Spring High School in Newville, Pennsylvania.
