USTFCCCA RELEASE

NEW ORLEANS – Suffolk women's cross country stayed at fourth in the East Region in the Week 1 edition of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Regional Rankings, the national organization unveiled Tuesday afternoon.

Fourth ties the highest ranking in the Rams' program history. The mark was first achieved in the 2024 preseason rankings and comes on the heels of Suffolk's second-place showing at the 10th annual Wheaton & Babson Season Opener Aug. 31.

Suffolk made its regional poll debut in the week 7 edition of the 2021 campaign and has been present in all, but one since.

The Rams are one of two Conference of New England (CNE) program to be recognized in the week 1 regional rankings as Endicott took 10th in the East

Suffolk is one of seven institutions to see both their men's and women's programs to be acknowledge on the regional ranking weekly list with the Rams men ninth.

The USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning team's strengths with current season results, when applicable, to determine a ranking-order by squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly ranking by the USTFCCCA began in 2010.

Suffolk is set to get back out on the course this weekend, Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Cardinal Invitational at The Wes Fuhrman '05 Trails Cross Country Course in Middletown, Connecticut.
