NEW ORLEANS – Suffolk women's cross country held onto the seventh spot in the East in Week 6 of the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the national organization unveiled Tuesday.
The Rams have been idle over the last two weeks to remain in the seventh spot in the regional ranking.
Suffolk emerged in the weekly regional poll in 2021's Week 7 edition and has seen its name in all, but one since.
The Rams are one of two Conference of New England (CNE) programs to be recognized this week as the University of New England stayed ninth for the third straight week.
The USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning team's strengths with current season results, when applicable, to determine a ranking-order by squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly ranking by the USTFCCCA began in 2010.
Suffolk has its sights on the 2025 CNE Championship that is on tap next Saturday, Nov. 1. The Rams go for the five-peat on the campus of Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts.
