BOSTON – Suffolk baseball is set to be road warriors April 25-26 as the Rams visit Conference of New England (CNE) counterpart Nichols Saturday before tangling with Lasell Sunday.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk baseball used a steady offensive surge to fuel a come-from-behind victory on home turf Thursday afternoon at East Boston Memorial Park, defeating non-conference Salem State, 13-4.

RAMS RUNDOWN

  • Suffolk sandwiched two wins around one setback over a three-game mid-week stretch to carry a 7-23 overall mark and 4-9 CNE ledger into the four-game weekend. 
  • Sam Armbruster has contributed all-around offensively with team-leading numbers in RBI (26), runs scored (26) and stolen bases (12) behind 35 hits, good for second on the squad, with a .304 batting average. 
  • Jack Mihalchik, meanwhile, tops the team in hits (39) and is hitting .322. The junior has brought in 11 runs, scored 22 himself and swiped six bases. 
  • Luke Thornton (31 hits, 16 RBI, 21 runs), Colin Flynn (30 hits, 9 RBI, 22 runs) and Cole Hilliard (27 hits, 11 RBI, 12 runs) have been consistent contributors at the plate as well. 
  • Nick Arnett (27.1 IP, 14 K), Anthony Ferreira (41.0 IP, 25 K), Ian Maude (20.1 IP, 10 K) and John McDevitt(22.0 IP, 17 K) are all options on the bump for the blue-and-gold this weekend. 

BISON BREAKDOWN

  • Nichols topped Clark, 16-12, Thursday to move to .500 on the season at 16-16. In CNE contests, the Bison are 6-7. 
  • Ryan Keating has produced 43 hits and 23 RBI on a .328 conversion rate at the plate with 26 runs scored and 20 stolen bases in 22 attempts. 
  • Anthony Hackert (38 hits, 18 RBI, 27 runs), Andrew Rocca (32 hits, 16 RBI, 23 runs), Charles MacElhiney (31 hits, 21 RBI, 16 runs) and Collin Harty (30 hits, 25 RBI, 26 runs) have all supplied 30-plus hits. 
  • Clark Churchill (4.61 ERA, 52.2 IP, 34 K) and Aidan Whitten (4.74 ERA, 49.1 IP, 37 K) are the Bison's likely starts on the hill.

  • Suffolk was swept by Nichols in a double feature a year ago, which leveled the all-time series at 22-22. 
  • The blue-and-gold's last win over the Bison came March 22, 2024 via a 7-5 decision.
  • The Rams are no 5-4 versus the Bison in the Anthony Del Prete era.

  • Lasell holds a 16-17 overall record and is set to face Emerson in a twin bill Saturday prior to hosting Suffolk Sunday. 
  • A trio of bats have surpassed the 40-hit mark in Declan Silva (48 hits, 29 RBI, 34 runs), Connor Freitas (42 hits, 28 RBI, 22 runs) and Tim Callahan (43 hits, 25 RBI, 26 runs) to power the Lasers offensive unit. 
  • Lasell's usual weekend starting rotation features Chase Supan (5.50 ERA, 34.1 IP, 30 K), Benjamin Conlon (6.52 ERA, 29.0 IP, 24 K), Ty Lohsen (4.55 ERA, 29.2 IP, 31 K) and Luke Descheneaux (5.88 ERA, 33.2 IP, 17 K).
