THE BREAKDOWN
Tumble Brook Country Club serves as the stage for this year's championship, a 36-hole, two-day stroke play format. Each lineup features five golfers with the best four scores counting toward the team total in each round.
THE FIELD
All nine CNE men's golf programs will battle for the title.
Joining Suffolk in the field are host Hartford, the 2024 champion Roger Williams, Endicott, Gordon, Wentworth, Western New England, Nichols, and the University of New England.
WHAT'S UP FOR GRABS?
The winner of the 36-hole event will be crowned the 2025 CNE Golf Champion and claim the league's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Division III Tournament.
SUFFOLK AT THE CNE CHAMPIONSHIP
- Suffolk has appeared in the CNE Championship field since 2020-21.
- The Rams best team showing came in 2022-23 when the Rams turned in a third-place finish following a fall qualifier.
- When a fall qualifier was not used to down size the field, Suffolk's best performance at the league championship was fourth in the fall of 2023.
- A year ago, the blue-and-gold turned in a sixth-place finish in the nine-team field under head coach Joshua Brickley's guidance. The Rams' two-day team score read 635 at The Tedesco Country Club.
A RAM AT THE CNE CHAMPIONSHIP
- Mauro Stanchieri delivered Suffolk's top placement with a fifth-place effort in 2022.
- The following year, Christopher Sinopoli tied the program's 36-hole best with a 153, highlighted by the lowest single round in Suffolk's conference history, a 75.
- Jonathan Donovan paced the blue-and-gold a year ago with a 157 to tie for 18th overall.
RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk will send out seniors Trey Connolly, Christopher Sinopoli and Jonathan Donovan, as well as junior Ryan Mollica and sophomore Michael Gallagher to chase the 2025 conference title.
Sinopoli, Donovan and Gallagher are no strangers to championship courses. Sinopoli has the most experience with this weekended marking his fourth league title tournament. Donovan has competed in the last two, while Gallagher made his league championship debut a year ago.
Connolly and Mollica, meanwhile, are set to battle at a league tournament for the first time in their collegiate careers.
SUFFOLK'S SCHEDULE
The Rams have one day off before they are back in action with the Battle at Bulls Bridge on tap Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the Bull's Bridge Golf Club in South Kent, Connecticut.
