Men’s Golf Takes 15th at NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – Suffolk men's golf turned in a 15th place performance at the 80th New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship over the weekend at the Captains Golf Course.

The Rams went up against the best of the New England and landed 15th in the 20-team regional field behind a two-day, 36-hole score of 636. The blue-and-gold put together a 329 on Saturday. On Sunday, Suffolk shined with the fourth-best 18-hole score of the tournament of 307, which is the lowest one-round team score by the Rams since it achieved a program-best 304 on day two of the 2022 NEIGAs, to finish with a 636 overall. That score is the fourth-best by Suffolk's squad in the 20 years it has competed at the regional tournament on the cape.

Michael Gallagher had a record-setting tournament. The sophomore shot a 79 on Saturday to sit in 31st place. The Novi, Michigan native went one under par (72) on Sunday to move up 23 spots and finish in a five-way tie for eighth in the 119-golfer field. Gallagher's overall score, Sunday performance and finish is a best by a Ram since NEIGA has taken place at Captains Golf Course at the turn of the century in 2000.

Christopher Sinopoli put together his best NEGIA score of 159 to claim a share of 49th. The senior captain that calls Marlborough, Massachusetts home sat in 67th at the end of Saturday with an 82 before he climbed 18 spots on Sunday thanks to a 77.

Like his co-captain and classmate, Trey Connolly jumped 18 spots on Sunday to a tie of 155 with a two-day card of 160.

Tyler Anastasi and Mikey Kowalsky shared 97th with 171 apiece.

Freshman Josh Gross made his collegiate debut with a share of 81st as he shot an 83 on both days of the competition.

The NEIGA Championship concluded the Rams' 2025 fall slate. Suffolk will return to action this spring.
