CANTON, Mass. – Suffolk men's ice hockey suffered its first Conference of New England (CNE) setback of the season Friday night, a 5-2 road defeat to No. 5/6 Curry.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Suffolk came out flying, firing the first four shots of the night and breaking through just 91 seconds in. A forced neutral-zone turnover sprung Bobby Lachance, whose shot was kicked aside by Cam Smith, but Alex Ondos jumped on the rebound and buried it for the early edge.
- Curry answered quickly as Blake Rothstein leveled the score at 3:26, and at 10:08, Gage Dill gave the Colonels their first lead with an unassisted tally. The visitors carried that 2-1 advantage into the first intermission.
- Even with Suffolk owning a 12-6 shot margin in the second period, Curry capitalized on its chances, striking twice, once from Chance Uzzell and again on a shorthanded finish by Killian Rowlee.
- The Rams clawed one back late, converting on the power play when Daniel McKiernan deposited a feed from Scott McManus with just over five minutes remaining.
- Curry sealed the result with an empty netter from Victor Daigneault with just 26 seconds to go in regulation.

- Austin McNicholas recorded 17 saves in the match.
- Smith stood tall with 30 stops.

- McKiernan finished with a multi-point stat line of one goal and one assist.
