EAST BOSTON – Suffolk men's ice hockey bounced back from its first defeat of the season in convincing fashion has it handled Roger Williams, 7-2 Saturday night in Conference of New England (CNE) play at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink. A dozen Rams contributed points to the offensive onslaught highlighted by Cole Scott's hat trick.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The first frame was even as both teams lit the lamp twice to keep things close, 2-2. 
• Roger Williams poured in the first goal of the night 55 seconds into the action as Nichols Rooney found the back of the cage thanks to help from Daxton St. Hilarie and Colin Kwak. 
• Marko Giourof tied things up 3:04 later as he turned a Nolan Leonard feed into Suffolk's first strike of the night.
• Scott pushed the blue-and-gold front, 2-1, at the 7:26 mark thanks to help from Josh Milso and Leonard. 
• St. Hilaire had an answer for the Hawks 1:19 later as he tucked Nick Palmer's pass into the net to lock things at 2-all, which remained at the first intermission.
• The Rams poured in three unanswered in the second stanza to take a lead three-goal, 5-2, lead they never let go of. 
• Suffolk kept its skates on the gas pedal in the final frame and tacked on two more tallies for the 7-2 final.  

NETMINDER NOTES

• Austin McNicholas put together a 12-save effort in the victory. 
• Jacob Jaslow had a 41-stop performance in the setback. 

STATISTCALLY SPEAKING

• Scott supplied three goals and one assist. 
• Ralph Berry dished out three assists. 
• Giourof recorded two goals. 
• Leonard logged two helpers.
• Bobby Lachance and Dimitri Voyatzis netted one goal apiece.
• Milso, Owen Hodgett, Gavin Havens, McKiernan, Alex Ondos and Aidan O'Connell notched one assist each. 
• Suffolk outshot Roger Williams, 48-14. 
• The Rams went 1-for-4 on the power play and 6-for-7 on the penalty kill. 
• The blue-and-gold had the upperhand in face offs, 42-26.

• Suffolk remains unbeaten, 2-0-0, all-time against Roger Williams. 
• The Rams hosted the Hawks for the first time in program history. 
• Suffolk poured in seven goals, the most in a single-game in the all-time series with RWU. 
• The seven strikes are the most for the Rams since it netted nine in a 9-5 victory over Western New England Feb. 7, 2025. 
• The five-goal margin of victory is the largest since a seven-goal margin of triumph in a 7-0 season-opening shutout of Franklin Pierce Oct. 26, 2028.
• Scott is the second player this season to record a hat trick, first since McKiernan logged on in the 5-0 shutout of Wentworth, Nov. 8, 2025. 
• Scott had a personal-best in points (4) and goals (3). 
• Berry registered a career-high in points (3) and assists (3). 
• Giourof matched a personal-high in points (2) on a career-best two goals. 
• Leonard set-up a personal-best two shots.
• Voyatzis scored his first goal as a Ram. 
• Lachance stretched his point streak in three games. In that span he has two goals and three helpers.
• McKiernan has produced at least one point in all five of Suffolk's games this season. He has racked up four goals and four assists.

Suffolk turns its attention to Endicott, who it'll face in a home-and-home series Nov. 20-21. The Rams head to Beverly, Massachusetts Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. affair, before hosting the Gulls Friday at 5:00 p.m. in Eastie.
