BOSTON – After having its season opener halted due to inclement weather, Suffolk men's soccer returns to action Sunday, Aug. 31 when it entertains Brandeis at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park. First kick is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk men's soccer's 2025 opener, a showdown at Dean, was suspended with 11 minutes left on the scoreboard in the first half due to a lightning strike. Following an hour-long delay, the officials made the call to stop play Friday afternoon at Longley Athletic Complex.  

The Rams and Bulldogs will pick up where they left off, with the blue-and-gold up 3-2, Tuesday, Sept. 30 at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.

SUFFOLK SCORES

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk started its season at Dean Friday afternoon and made it nearly halfway through the outing with the Bulldogs before lighting paused play. The Rams led 3-2 at the time, with 11:38 left on the clock, before the game was officially postponed. 

Francisco Valck scored twice in the matchup, while Mohamed Mehaya registered one goal and one assist. 

Both Nathan Harlow and Ian Caldwell saw time in net for the blue-and-gold. 

JUDGES JIST
Brandeis brings a 1-0-0 record to East Boston Sunday after it defeated Coast Guard, 1-0, Friday.  

Rainer Osselmann-Chai scored the event game-winner via a penalty kick to push the Judges to victory. 

Tyler Correnti played every minute in net for Brandeis and made one save in the win.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk and Brandeis met for the first time a year ago and played to a scoreless draw Sept. 1, 2024. 
  • Last season's game took place at Brandeis. 
  • The Rams will entertain the Judges for the first time.

All members of Ram Nation are invited by Suffolk University to East Boston Memorial Park Saturday, Sept. 27 for RamFest. 

RamFest is part of Suffolk Weekend, which brings together the entire University community. The weekend is the perfect opportunity for members of the Suffolk community and their families to reconnect or get acclimated with Suffolk, reminisce with old friends, make new ones and enjoy beautiful Boston in the fall. Following Rammy's Fun Run, the family friendly fan fest festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. An afternoon of community, entertainment and school spirit is in store. Event highlights include: 

  • A variety of food trucks with local favorites
  • Live performances by Suffolk University's house band The Common
  • Men's and Women's Soccer Games – support the Rams on their Senior Days! 
  • Cornhole Tournament – register with a teammate to or get paired day-of 
  • Axe Throwing and Gladiator Joust for some friendly competition
  • Yard games and airbrush pennants to round out the fun

Tickets are required to participate in RamFest and grants you access to food trucks and activities at the fields throughout the afternoon. Alumni, family and friends can purchase their $20 tickets here.
