BOSTON – Suffolk men's soccer takes a break from Conference of New England (CNE) competition Wednesday, Sept. 24 when it makes the short trip over the bridge to Cambridge to face MIT at 6 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk men's soccer dropped a 2-0 Conference of England (CNE) contest to Endicott Saturday night at Hempstead Stadium.

RAMS RUNDOWN

  • Suffolk dipped to 3-2-2 on the year Saturday when it saw its five-game unbeaten streak end at Endicott, 2-0. 
  • Mohamed Mehaya has been a main ingredient to the Rams' 10-goal offense as the freshman has scored three himself and set up two others to sit atop the squad in all offensive categories. 
  • Zach Vlachos has a pair of strikes on his stat line, while Ford Lee and Diego Pierantozzi have matching three-point stat lines of one goal and one helper. 
  • Nathan Harlow has been the blue-and-gold's keeper as of late. In three games played, including the last two, he has put together a 0.67 GAA and .833 save percentage with three cleansheets. 
  • Ian Caldwell was the goalie in the Rams' other three start. In his four appearances he has compiled a 1.25 GAA and .545 save percentage with one shutout.   

EYES ON THE ENGINEERS

  • MIT sits 2-3-2 on the season and rides a three-game unbeaten streak into Wednesday night that features a 1-all tie versus Brandeis, a 3-1 win over Wentworth and a scoreless draw against WPI. 
  • Dilin Meloni and Shikhar Motupally have produced identical five-point stat lines of two goals and one assist to lead the Engineers' eight-goal scoring unit. 
  • Woods Windham's three-point stat line is evenly divided between goals (1) and handouts (1), while Keegan Harrison, Charles Lai and Eric Lohse have all found the back of the net once. 
  • Ethan Reich rounds out the offensive threats with a team-high two helpers. 
  • Paolo Mangiafico has played all seven games in net for MIT and brings in a 2.14 GAA and 0.615 save percentage with a pair of shutouts.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk and MIT have met nine times since 1946.
  • The Rams are 3-6-1 all-time against the Engineers.
  • The blue-and-gold fell to MIT in the last meeting, 2-0, Sept. 25, 2024.
  • Eight meetings have been determined in shutout fashion, including the last tangle and two of the Rams' victories.
  • Suffolk is 2-6-0 in cleansheets against the Engineers.
  • The first and only tie between Suffolk and MIT came via a 2-2 draw in the first-ever meeting in 1946.
  • Location of the contests were unknown in the first four meetings. Since 2015, four games have been played at MIT (1-3-0).
  • In 2022, Suffolk hosted the Engineers for the first time and won, 3-0.
  • The Engineers have outscored the Rams, 43-9 all-time.

All members of Ram Nation are invited by Suffolk University to East Boston Memorial Park Saturday, Sept. 27 for RamFest. 

RamFest is part of Suffolk Weekend, which brings together the entire University community. The weekend is the perfect opportunity for members of the Suffolk community and their families to reconnect or get acclimated with Suffolk, reminisce with old friends, make new ones and enjoy beautiful Boston in the fall. Following Rammy's Fun Run, the family friendly fan fest festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. An afternoon of community, entertainment and school spirit is in store. Event highlights include: 

  • A variety of food trucks with local favorites
  • Live performances by Suffolk University's house band The Common
  • Men's and Women's Soccer Games – support the Rams on their Senior Days! 
  • Cornhole Tournament – register with a teammate to or get paired day-of 
  • Axe Throwing and Gladiator Joust for some friendly competition
  • Yard games and airbrush pennants to round out the fun

Tickets are required to participate in RamFest and grants you access to food trucks and activities at the fields throughout the afternoon. Alumni, family and friends can purchase their $20 tickets here. SUFFOLK'S SCHEDULE
Suffolk men's soccer returns to the friendly confines of East Boston Memorial Park's James A. Sartori Stadium Saturday, Sept. 27 for a CNE clash with Curry. Prior to the 3 p.m. kickoff, which is a part of RamFest as part of Suffolk Weekend, the Rams will honor and recognize the playing careers of its senior and graduate student-athletes.
