BOSTON – Suffolk men's soccer looks to bounce back Tuesday, Oct. 14 when it treks up to Biddeford, Maine, to take on the University of New England in a Conference of New England (CNE) tilt at 4:00 p.m.

Suffolk men's soccer could not hold on to an early two-goal lead as roger Williams, who is receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll, poured in three unanswered to hand the Rams a 3-2 Conference of New England (CNE) setback Saturday at Bayside Field.

RAMS RUNDOWN

  • Suffolk suffered its second CNE setback of the season Saturday at Roger Williams, 3-2, to move to 8-3-2 on the year and 3-2-0 in league play. 
  • Mohamed Mehaya has been a critical factor in Suffolk's scoring unit as the freshman forward has team-best numbers in every statistical category with nine goals, five assists and 23 points. 
  • Francisco Valck and Zach Vlachos share the second spot on the team with identical 12-point stat lines evenly divided between strikes (4) and handouts (4). 
  • Diego Pierantozzi is on the verge of the double-digit point mark with four markers and one helper to his credit. 
  • Nathan Harlow (1.00 GAA, .806 save%) and Ian Caldwell (1.07 Gaa, .667 save percentage) have split the bulk of the work load in net with seven games played and eight appearances, respectively.

NOR'EASTER NOTES

  • UNE, who has lost the last two games in a row, sports a 2-7-3 overall record and 0-4-1 CNE mark.
  • The Nor'Easters six-goal offense has seen four goal scorers in Ethan Berry (2g), Nick Reffel (2g), Corbin Schreindorfer (1g) and Zade Tincher (1g). 
  • Berry has a knack for setting up scorers as well with a team-high three handouts. 
  • Sean MacDonald is the usual keeper for the University of New England. He holds a 1.93 GAA and .756 save percentage with four shutouts in 11 appearances, all starts.  

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk is unbeaten all-time against the University of New England, 4-0-0. 
  • The Rams and Nor'Easters met for the first time in 2021.
