Men’s Track & Field Takes Part in Silfen Invitational

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Suffolk men's outdoor track & field competed at the Silfen Invitational, held at the Silfen Track in New London, Connecticut, April 10-11, producing multiple finals appearances and personal-best performances across the weekend.

RAMS RUNNERS

  • Sprint action was led by Michael Nossek, who placed fourth in the 100 prelims at 11.03 before finishing fifth in the finals at 10.82. Eddie Hindle (11.85), Brendan Eddy (12.27), Marco Gomez (12.34), and Cormac O'Brien (12.54) rounded out the field.
  • The 200 featured Emmett St. Pierre, who paced Suffolk at 24.14, followed by Nico Carrillo (24.34), Hindle (24.81), Eddy (25.13), and Cormac O'Brien (26.67).
  • Over one lap, StPierre finished at 53.58, with Gomez crossing in 57.98.
  • Tighe Hossman led the Rams in the 400m hurdles, placing fifth at 58.38, as Connor Johnson followed at 1:01.51. 
  • Hossman also advanced to the 110m hurdles final, clocking 16.20 in prelims before finishing fifth at 15.9.
  • Michael Najarian placed 25th in the 800 at 2:23.67.
  • The 1500 was highlighted by Declan Shannon, who finished eighth at 4:30.37, followed by Najarian in 4:50.10.

FIELDERS FACTS 

  • Connor Brown recorded a shot put mark of 8.90 meters, good for 20th.

RAMS RECORDS

  • Nossek set a personal-best time of 10.82 in the 100 
  • Hindle (11.85) and Gomez (12.34) each recorded personal-best times in the 100.
  • Hossman posted personal-best marks in both hurdle events (15.9 in the 110, 58.38 in the 400).

  • Carrillo and St. Pierre made their outdoor debuts in the 200.
