Men’s Track & Field Takes Seventh at CNE Championships

WENHAM, Mass. – Suffolk men's outdoor track & field placed seventh in the eight-team field at the 2026 Conference of New England (CNE) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at the Brigham Athletic Complex, highlighted by a conference title from the 4x400 relay team and multiple podium finishes to account for 45 team points across the two-day meet.

Hartford captured the team championship with 237 points, followed by Gordon (119), Roger Williams (103.50), Wentworth (88), Nichols (67.50), Western New England (61), Suffolk (45), and Curry (20).

CNE CHAMPIONS 

Suffolk claimed gold medals in one event:

ALL-CNE HONORS

Suffolk student athletes who placed first (gold medalist), second (silver medalist) or third (bronze medalists) in an event earned all-conference first-team, second-team, and third-team honors. 

  • One All-CNE First-Team – 4x400 Relay
  • One All-CNE Second-Team – Mohamed Mehaya (400)
  • One All-CNE Third-Team – Tighe Hosman (400m Hurdles) 

RAMS RUNNERS

  • The 100 featured Charlie Billard, who crossed in 21st at 11.79, followed by Eddie Hindle (11.93), Brendan Eddy (12.09), and Marco Gomez (12.18).
  • Tighe Hosman placed seventh in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.16.
  • Mohamed Mehaya highlighted the 400 with a runner-up finish in 49.32, setting a new program record and becoming the first Ram to break 50 seconds. Will Manix took fourth in 50.78 and Emmett St. Pierre followed in 11th at 52.18.
  • Hossman returned in the 400m hurdles and earned bronze with a third-place finish in 57.23, lowering his own program record.
  • Michael Najarian finished 25th in the 800 with a time of 2:19.83.
  • The 1500 was led by Matthew Ramarge, who placed eighth in 4:13.86, followed by Declan Shannon (13th, 4:19.00), Eric Anderson (21st, 4:33.12), and Najarian (23rd, 4:42.54).
  • Suffolk closed the distance slate with a strong showing in the 5000, led by Jack Marston, who placed seventh in 15:45.65, followed by Hayden Green (14th, 16:33.43) and Sean Jacobsen (16th, 16:41.30).

RAM'S RELAYS

  • Suffolk's 4x100 relay team of Michael Nossek, Connor Johnson, St. Pierre, and Mehaya sprinted to fourth place in 43.60.
  • The 4x400 relay team of Manix, Johnson, St. Pierre, and Mehaya raced to the conference title in 3:26.82.

JUMPERS JIST

  • Mehaya turned in a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.58 meters. Connor Johnson added a leap of 6.01 meters.
  • Joshua Catino matched the program record in the pole vault, clearing 3.65 meters to place ninth, while Nico Carrillo followed in 11th at 3.35 meters.

FIELDERS FACTS

  • George Mirogiannis launched the javelin 41.77 meters to place 12th. He also added an eighth-place finish in the hammer throw with a toss of 36.24 meters.
  • Connor Brown recorded a shot put mark of 9.51 meters to place 24th.

RAMS RECORDS 

  • Mehaya set a new program record in the 400 with a time of 49.32, becoming the first Ram in program history to break 50 seconds.
  • Hossman lowered his own school record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.23.
  • Catino matched the program record in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.65 meters.
  • Marston posted a personal-best time of 15:45.65 in the 5000.
  • Shannon (4:19.00), Anderson (4:33.12), and Najarian (4:42.54) each recorded collegiate best times in the 1500.
  • St. Pierre ran a personal-best 52.18 in the 400.
  • Billard (23.54) and Hindle (24.19) each posted personal-best times in the 200.
  • Gomez recorded a personal-best 12.18 in the 100.
  • Mirogiannis set a personal-best mark of 41.77 meters in the javelin.
  • Johnson posted a collegiate best leap of 6.01 meters in the long jump.
