BOSTON – Suffolk men's cross country will venture to Colfax, Wisconsin for the university of Wisconsin EAU Claire's Blugold Invite at the Whitetail Golf Course Friday, Oct. 3. The Rams will be featured in the men's 8k varsity race at 4:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk men's cross country team placed 24th at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational at the Robert Dowd Cross Country Course on Saturday, Sept. 20.

The Rams combined for 709 points in the Robert 'Buddy' Harris' 8k and a total time of 2:19:57 to take 24th in the 32-team field that was led by Boston University.

THE HEATS

• Four different heats will race mid-afternoon Friday. 
• Competition comments with the men's 8k open at 3:00 p.m. with the women's 6k open to follow 45 minutes. The first varsity race, the men's 8k, is set for a 4:30 p.m. gun with the women's varsity to close the day at 5:15 p.m. 
• Suffolk will be featured in all, but the men's open race. 

THE COURSE
The Whitetail Golf Course is an extremely challenging course with constant rolling hills.  

THE COMPETITION
Friday's competition will be one of the hardest for Suffolk this season with eight of the 39 teams in the USTFCCCA Top-30 including No. 1 UW La Crosse, No. 6 North Central, No. 11 St. Olaf, No. 12 Hope, No. 13 UW Whitewater, No. 17 Stevens Point, No. 24 UW Platteville and No. 30 UW EAU Claire.

COACH'S QUOTE
"We're still very much a work in progress as we build for November, but we definitely have out sights set on a top 20 finish Friday," head coach Will Feldman said. 

RAMS TO WATCH

• Hayden Green had a great race at this race in 2023, which propelled him to an all-conference performance later that season, which is the hopes for this campaign as well. 
• Sean Jacobsen will join Green on the course and is coming off an injury. 
• Michael Najarian, Matthew Ramarge, Sebastian Vickers-Richard and Declan Shannon are set to run in Wisconsin as well.  

RAMS REMINISCE: BLUGOLD INVITE

• Suffolk will make its second-ever appearance at the Blugold Invite, first since 2023. 
• In 2023, the Rams compiled a 13th-place team performance. 
• The best showing by a Suffolk student-athlete on the 8k Whitetail Golf Course was Thomas Novy's 26:15.0, good for 54th in 2023. 
• Hayden Green (26:47.6) and Sean Jacobsen (26:54.0) also ran in 2023 and found spots in the top-100. 

SUFFOLK'S SCHEDULE
The Rams are back in action Saturday, Oct. 11 at the James Earley Invitational at Stanley Park in Westfield, Massachusetts.
