WENHAM, Mass. – Suffolk men's cross country turned in a fifth-place performance at the 2025 Conference of New England (CNE) Championships Saturday afternoon on the campus of Gordon College.
Suffolk was in the middle of the 10-team pack as its five scoring student-athletes found spots in the top 40 to finish with 135 points, five shy of fourth-place Gordon.
Roger Williams ran away with its fifth conference crown as four of its top five runners locked up spots in the first 13 for 34 points. Wentworth slid into second with 68 points and Endicott was just two points behind the Leopards to round out the podium.
RAMS RUNNERS
- Hayden Green paced Suffolk on the 8k course as the senior came through the finisher's chute in 26:41.10, good for 14th out of 115th runners.
- Freshman Matthew Ramarge clocked a 27:24.12 in his first collegiate conference championship to place 24th.
- Senior Sean Jacobsen crossed the tape in 27:40.42 for a 33rd-place showing.
- Sophomore Sebastian Vickers-Richard was three spots behind Jacobsen thanks to his time of 28:06.6.
- Vickers-Richard's classmate, Declan Shannon, meanwhile, finished 28:14.22 as he put together a 28:14.22 effort.
- Freshman Eric Anderson (32:27.38) and senior Michael Najarian (32:23.09) took spots one after another in 103rd and 104th, respectively.
- Senior Matthew McGoldrick (33:53.36) claimed 109th.
ALL-CNE
- Student-athletes that finish in the top 15 captured all-conference recognition.
- Green garnered a spot on the All-CNE Third-Team thanks to his 14th-place performance.
RAMS RECORDS
- Green's time of 26:41.1 marks the best showing by the captain on the CNE course at Gordon, surpassing his previous time of 27:01.4 in 2023.
- Ramarge registered a career-high 8k time of 27:24.12.
- Jacobsen logged a season-best 8k of 27:40.42.
- Vickers-Richard compiled a personal-best 8k of 28:06.6.
- Anderson produced an 8k PR of 32:27.38 in his first collegiate conference title race.
- McGoldrick tallied a PR of his own as he finished the 8k in 33:53.36.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk competed at the CNE Championships for the fifth time in program history.
- The Rams ran for the CNE title at Gordon for the second time, first since 2023.
- Green garnered his fourth all-league accolade. He is now the first Ram in program history to earn an all-league distinction in each year of his collegiate career with his fourth consecutive all-conference honoree.
- Suffolk has had at least one all-conference performance (top-15 finish) every single year it has competed at the CNE Championships, which dates to 2021.

Suffolk takes a week off to prep for the 2025 NCAA Division III East Regionals, which the Rams will host Saturday, Nov. 15 at Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
