Men’s Cross Country Takes 19th at NCAA DIII East Regionals

HOPKINTON, N.H. – Suffolk men's cross country closed the 2025 campaign with a 19th-place performance at the NCAA Division III East Regionals Saturday at Hopkinton Fair Grounds. 

The Rams posted 583 points to take 19th in the field of 32 that included Conference of New England (CNE) counterparts Wentworth (9th), Gordon (15th), University of New England (23rd), Endicott (24th), Nichols (26) and Curry 29th). 

No. 11 MIT (42) edged out No. 4 Tufts (49) to repeat as regional champs by a seven-point margin. All seven Jumbos garnered All-East recognition from the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) with spots in the top-35, while the five scoring Engineers picked up the all-region distinction. Colby, who had five all-region honorees of its own, completed the podium with 104 points. 

RAMS RUNNERS

  • Hayden Green paced Suffolk's runners as the senior came through the 8k finisher's chute in 27:12.2 to claim 84th in the field of 216. 
  • Sean Jacobsen captured 101st as the senior crossed the tape in 27:31.4
  • Freshman Matthew Ramarge recorded a 27:48.1, good for 119th. 
  • Sophomores Sebastian Vickers-Richard (28:45.5) and Declan Shannon (28:52.27) were separated by three runners with the former taking 147th. 
  • Senior Michael Najarian finished 196th thanks to a 31:26.4 effort. 
  • Freshman Eric Anderson rounded out the Rams on the course with a time of 31:29.5 to place 198th.  

NOTEWORTHY

  • Suffolk hosted the NCAA DIII East Regionals for the third straight season and fourth time in program history. 
  • Green became the second-ever member of Suffolk men's cross country to run at four regional championships in their collegiate career, joining Thomas Novy, who accomplished the feat a year ago. 
  • Ramarge, Najarian, Shannon, Vickers-Richard and Anderson all ran at regionals for the first time in their collegiate careers.
