BOSTON – Suffolk women's basketball put on a shooting clinic has it shot 47.6 percent from downtown and 52.5 percent from the field to handle Baruch, 81-52, Sunday afternoon at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Suffolk was lights out from 3-point range in the first frame. The Rams poured in 77.8 percent of its nine triples attempted to sit in front 31-8 after the first 10 minutes. Olivia Verdile anchored the charge as she swished three treys and finished with 11 first quarter points. Ariana Ingram (1), Jordan Moreau (2) and Tatiana Tune (1) added buckets from behind-the-arc as well to help the Rams build an early edge.
- The Rams relied on an up-tempo presence and lay-ups in the second stanza to build a 30-point, 48-18 advantage at half time.
- It was an even third quarter as both teams put up 17 points, which allowed the host to hold onto the 30-point cushion, 65-35.
- The Bearcats starting to find the bottom of the net more often in the fourth quarter, but it would not be enough as the Rams responded to nearly every Baruch effort fo the 81-52 final.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Verdile finished with a game-high 21 points on an 8-for-10 effort from the field that included a 5-for-6 showing from 3-point land. She added four boards and two helpers.
- Moreau compiled a 17-point, four-board, three-dime, one-steal stat line. The junior shot 7-for-14 on the day and 3-for-6 from behind-the-arc.
- Tatiana Tune pitched in 11 points, three caroms, three handouts and one steal.
- Ava Thurman added 10 points thanks to a 6-for-7 showing from the charity stripe to go along with five rebounds.
- Allison Bono had an all-around effort of eight points, four rebounds, four dimes and one takeaway.
- Suffolk shot 52.5 percent (32-61) on the day, 47.6 percent (10-21) from three and 70.0 percent (7-10) from the free throw line.
- The Rams outrebounded the Bearcats, 45-22.
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk met Baruch for the second time in program history, first since Nov. 27, 2003.
- The Rams are unbeaten against Baruch all-time, 2-0.
- Both battles between Suffolk and Baruch have taken place in Boston.
- Verdile rewrote personal-best in points (21), field goals made (8) and 3-point field goals made.
- Moreau matched a career-high 17 points behind a career-best seven field goals made and tied a personal-high three triples made.
- Thurman tallied a career-high in points (10), free throws made (6) and free throws attempted (7).
- Akiyah Brown matched a career-best four field goals made.
- Tune notched personal bests in points (11), field goals made (5), field goals attempted (8), 3-pointers made and attempted (1) and assists (3), while she matched a career-high in rebounds (3) and steals (1).
- Ariana Ingram supplied a career-high six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
- Mia Corazzini notched a personal-high in assists (1) and block (1).
