Two Events in Store for Women’s Golf this Weekend

BOSTON – Suffolk women's golf returns to action this weekend with a pair of one-day tournaments – the Hartford Tri-Match and the Keene State Invite. The Rams will first head to Wintonbury Hill Golf Course in Bloomfield, Connecticut Saturday, Sept. 27 before trekking up to Keene, New Hampshire Sunday, Sept. 28 to play at Keene Country Club.

LAST TIME OUT
 Suffolk women's golf captured the Westfield State Invitational Sunday, Sept. 14 at the Tekoa Country Club.

HARTFORD TRI-MATCH
 The Hartford Tri-Match will pit Suffolk against the host Hartford as well as Vassar. 

WINTONBURY HILLS GOLF COURSE
 Wintonbury Hills Golf Course, just 15 minutes from Hartford, is a 6,711-yard, par-70 layout with a combination of open links-style and traditional tree-lined holes that provide golfers a challenging and enjoyable round of golf. 

KEENE STATE INVITE
 Suffolk is set to face Gordon, Husson, Keene State, Southern Maine, Westfield State and Western Connecticut in the Granite State Sunday. 

KEENE COUNTRY CLUB
 Keene Country Club golf course, designed by Wayne Stiles in 1923 and updated over time, offers constant challenge without undue punishment. 

The 18-hole course, par 72 for men and women, measures 6,455 yards, a slope of 130 with an index of 71.5 from the back tees.  

RAMS AT THE KEENE COUNTRY CLUB

  • Suffolk will compete at the Keene Country Club for the third time in program history, third straight season.
  • The Rams have won both tournaments they have competed at the Keene Country Club thus far, a head-to-head match with the Owls in 2023, and the 2042 Keene State Invitational last season.
  • As a team, Suffolk's best 18-hole performance was in 2023 with a 336. Last year, the blue-and-gold combined for a 341 (+53).
  • Krisna Mahendran has compiled the best 18-hole card at the Keene State Country Club by a Ram as she shot a career-low 78 (+6) in 2024 to top the 40-golfer field.
  • Along with Mahendran, Brooke Bugajewski (83 in 2023, 87 in 2024), and Emory Goodson (90) have taken the green at the Keene State Country Club.
  • Bugajewski hit a hole-in-one, the program's first, on the links at Keene Country Club in the dual match with Keene State Sept. 22, 2023.

SUFFOLK'S SCHEUDLE
 The Rams will spend Oct. 4-5 at the Bowdoin Tournament at the Brunswick Country Club, which will serve as the final prep for Suffolk before the 2025 Conference of New England Championship.
