Women’s Ice Hockey Shutout by No. 4 Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Suffolk women's ice hockey was dealt a 7-0 shutout on the road by No. 4 Middlebury on Tuesday evening at Chip Kenyon '85 Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Trinity Walsh and Avery McInerny each scored in the first period to give Middlebury a 2-0 lead.
• Suffolk held strong in the second period, keeping the Panthers off the board, but Middlebury exploded for five goals in the third to secure a 7-0 victory.

NETMINDER NOTES

• Lucy Cantin stopped 36 shots in her first career start.
• Lauren Sobczak made 12 saves while Bridget Gray saved one shot in her limited action.

• Middlebury outshot Suffolk 43-13.
• Suffolk blocked 15 shots in the contest, including four each from Aiden Levee-Oshiro and Cassie Borowski.

NOTEWORTHY 

• Suffolk played at Middlebury for the second time in program history, first since the program's inaugural and only NCAA Tournament tilt, March 8, 2023.
