MILTON, Mass. – Bridget O'Leary tallied a career-high six goals to propel Suffolk women's lacrosse to a 16-6 win over Curry in its Conference of New England (CNE) opener on Tuesday afternoon at Walter M. Katz Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Julia Dickinson and Charlotte Goodman pushed Suffolk in front, 2-0, at the 9:07 mark of the first quarter with two unassisted goals before Curry evened the score with a pair of goals in a 36-second span to make it 2-2. Goodman then found Zoe Peckham, who finished from close to put the Rams back on top before Stella MacLelland scored with three seconds left in the quarter to give Suffolk a 4-2 lead after one.
- The Colonels cut the lead in half with an early strike in the second, but Dickinson answered with a free-position goal. O'Leary then netted three consecutive goals over a 2:10 span to stretch the Suffolk advantage to 8-3. Jessie Le later connected with Goodman, and Dickinson added an unassisted tally as Suffolk took a 10-3 lead into halftime.
- The Rams extended their run early in the third with a goal from Le, followed by man-up tallies from Lauren Woods and Peckham. O'Leary added an unassisted goal to push the run to ten straight before Curry halted the stretch with a free-position strike. O'Leary answered with a free-position goal of her own to send Suffolk into the final quarter with a 15-4 advantage.
- O'Leary capped her six-goal performance with a strike at the 5:49 mark of the fourth as Suffolk went on to secure a 16-6 victory.
GOALIE LOG
- Charlotte Guziejka stopped five shots in the outing.
- Alexa Puopolo made 18 saves in net for the Colonels.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- In addition to her six goals, O'Leary secured four ground balls, three draw controls, and two caused turnovers.
- Dickinson finished with three goals and three ground balls.
- Peckham and Goodman each produced two goals and one assist.
- Le recorded a season-best three points (1g, 2a) and added one ground ball.
- MacLelland and Woods each scored once, with Woods also collecting four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
- Penelope Lawlor led the team at the draw with six draw controls.
- Suffolk outshot Curry 39-11 and held advantages in draw controls (18-5) and ground balls (22-14).
NOTEWORTHY
- Suffolk improved to 2-0 against Curry and 2-0 in CNE openers, both victories coming against the Colonels.
