Endicott Ends Women’s Soccer’s Unbeaten Streak, 1-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk women's soccer had its season-opening six-game unbeaten streak halted Saturday as Endicott handed the Rams a 1-0 Conference of New England (CNE) setback at Hempstead Stadium.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 0 | Endicott 1
RECORDS: Suffolk (4-1-2, 1-1-0 CNE) | Endicott (3-4-1, 2-1-0 CNE)

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Rams had the first shot on net on the day as Isa Peraza tested Amanda Cosgrove 7:27 into the contest. The Gulls keeper stood tall as she knocked the junior captain's attempt aside to keep zeroes on the board.
  • Endicott's Lily Miller capitalized on a long shot as she struck from outside the 18. The ball sailed through the air and knicked Arden Rose's finger tips, but was just out of grasp of the freshman keeper to fall in to give the Gulls the early 1-0 edge in the 23rd minute.
  • Suffolk managed to muster one attempt on target that Cosgrove knocked down in the second half to keep the lead in Endicott's favor.

KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS

  • Rose faced just one shot in the setback.
  • Cosgrove logged two saves in the win.
