EAST BOSTON – Suffolk women's soccer exploded for five first-half goals to cruise past Conference of New England (CNE) foe Nichols, 5-0, Wednesday night at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Daniela Petronio opened the scoring in the 12th minute, lofting a strike from outside the box that carried over the outstretched arms of Nichols keeper Hannah Deschene.
- Lily Goldmann doubled the advantage in the 26th minute when her shot from the left side of the box deflected off a Nichols defender and into the net.
- Makena Colombus extended the lead to three in the 39th, carrying the ball ten yards before slotting a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner.
- Less than two minutes later, Bria Baughman capitalized on a deflection in front of the goal and buried her shot to make it 4-0.
- With just 90 seconds left in the opening half, Goldmann capped the onslaught by tapping in a feed from Colombus across the face of goal.
KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS
- Jaiden Wilds made one save en route to her fourth shutout of the season.
- Hannah Deschene tallied five saves in the first half for Nichols.
- Isabella Dupret came on for the second stanza and stopped three Suffolk shots.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Goldmann led the way with two goals, while Baughman, Colombus, and Petronio each added one.
- Colombus provided the lone assist of the night.
- Goldmann and Petronio paced Suffolk with five shots apiece.
