For the second straight season, Suffolk volleyball saw four Rams earned All-CCC distinction as the Commonwealth Coast Conference announced the 2023 awards. McKenna Keowen was named to the first team, Grace Cervenka was selected to the second team and Sami Shore and Jessica Weber received spots on the third team.
Suffolk volleyball’s quest for a Commonwealth Coast Conference crown continues Thursday, Nov. 9 when the fifth-seeded Rams visit the top-seeded Leopards of Wentworth for a semifinal showdown at 6 p.m.
Suffolk volleyball saw its season come to a close Thursday night as the fourth-seeded Rams did not muster an upset over top-seeded Wentworth. Despite forcing four sets, the blue-and-gold fell to the Leopards, 3-1, at Tansey Gymnasium via set scores 25-19, 25-16, 18-25 and 25-13.
Suffolk volleyball kept Ram Nation on the edge of its seats as the fifth-seeded Rams rallied from a 2-0 deficit to upset fourth seed Gordon, 3-2, in the CCC First Round Tuesday night at the Bennett Athletic Center. The thrilling postseason victory came via set scores 23-25, 27-29, 26-24, 25-18 and 15-12.
In its regular-season finale, Suffolk women’s volleyball dropped a 3-1 decision to Wentworth in Commonwealth Coast Conference play Saturday at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court. In the match, Jayla Martinez etched her name in the Rams’ record book as the sixth-ever Ram to handout 1,000 assists.
