BOSTON – The road for a Conference of New England (CNE) Championship will start with sixth seed University of New England for the third seed Suffolk men's basketball team, who is set to host the Nor'Easters in the First Round, Wednesday, Feb. 25 at Larry E. and Michael S. Smith Court at 6:00 p.m.

RAMS IN THE POSTSEASON

  • Suffolk will start its 21st overall and 13th straight postseason run.
  • The trip is Suffolk's fifth CNE (formerly CCC) Tournament trip. 
  • The Rams entered the CNE field as the third seed for the second time overall and in as many seasons.  
  • It is the third time in program history that Suffolk is the third seed (2001, 2025, 2026).

  • Over its 20 conference tournament appearances, Suffolk has advanced to the semifinals seven times and the championship contest three.
  • The Rams aim to capture their first CNE crown and second-ever league championship, first since the 2002 GNAC Title. 
  • Suffolk boasts a 5-4 overall record in the CNE Tournament. 
  • Suffolk will host a CNE postseason game for the third time and second straight season. 
  • The Rams are unbeaten in CNE Tournament tilts played at Smith Court, 3-0. 
  • On the road, the blue-and-gold is 3-4 in CNE postseason play. 
  • Under Jeff Juron's guidance, Suffolk is 6-8 in the postseason and 5-4 in the CNE Tournament. 
  • The Rams have needed overtime to decide a winner in a postseason contest once, the 2024 first round at third-seed Endicott. Suffolk won that tangle, 80-79.

Behind a double-double from James Jones, Suffolk men's basketball took care of Conference of New England counterpart Gordon, 76-63, Saturday afternoon at the Bennett Center in the regular season finale.

  • Suffolk earned the No. 3 seed in the Conference of New England Tournament after finishing the regular season 15-10 overall and 11-5 in league play.
  • The Rams closed the regular season with a 76-63 road victory over Hartford and won four of their final five games to secure the third seed.
  • Suffolk enters the postseason with the 13th-ranked scoring defense in Division III, allowing just 63.5 points per game while holding opponents to 38.4 percent shooting from the floor and 29.5 percent from three-point range.
  • Greg Keane ranks fifth nationally in blocks per game (3.1) and chips in offensively, averaging 8.6 points per contest on 58.6 shooting percentage.
  • Nick Verdile leads Suffolk in scoring at 13.3 points per game and averages 2.5 three-pointers per contest.
  • James Jones contributes 12.1 points and a team-best 8.0 rebounds per game.
  • Harrison Neil produces 9.4 points and 5.1 boards per game.

NOR'EASTER NOTES

  • The University of New England enters the tournament as the No. 6 seed after finishing 12-13 overall and 8-8 in conference play.
  • UNE clinched its playoff position with an 81-78 victory over Hartford in the final game of the season to jump into the sixth spot.
  • The Nor'easters average 79.3 points per game offensively but allow 85.1 points per contest.
  • Adam Lux leads UNE with 16.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game and shoots 40.3 percent from three-point range.
  • Jayden Thornton adds 15.0 ppg and 1.5 takeaways.
  • Adrian Torres contributes 13.9 points, 3.9 assists, and 3.0 steals per contest.
  • Kha Cao Ra James averages 7.7 points and a team-best 6.8 rebounds per game.

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk swept the two-game regular-season season against the University of New England. The Rams took the battle in Biddeford, Maine, 75-69, Jan. 6, 2026, before they handled the Nor'Easters, 84-55, in Boston Feb. 14, 2026.
