BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk men's ice hockey rallied around four unanswered goals to take down No. 12 Endicott, 4-1, Thursday night in Conference of New England (CNE) action at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • John Goldowski opene the scoring for the Gulls just 1:22 into the contest.
  • Endicott's early momentum was short-lived as Cole Scott answered for Suffolk at the 14:11 mark of the opening period to lock things at 1-all.
  • The Rams went on to score three unanswered, two in the second and one insurance marker in the third, to hand the Gulls their first CNE loss of the season. 

NETMINDER NOTES

  • Austin McNicholas earned the win behind a 23-save effort.
  • Peter Sterling notched 27 stops in the setback for Endicott.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Scott and Dimitri Voyatzis had identical one-goal, one-assist efforts.
  • Ryan Webb found the back of the net once. The senior captain was responsible for the game-winner.
  • Marko Giourof rounded out the Rams' goal scorers with one strike to his credit.
  • Jake Grace, Matt Pimental, and Nolan Leonard handed out one assist each.
  • Suffolk outshot Endicott, 31-24.
  • The Rams went 1-for-4 on the power play and successfully skated off three penalties.

  • Suffolk defeated at top-15 opponent for the first time since it bested then-No. 14 Endicott, 3-2, Jan. 28, 2022.
  • The Rams opened the year 4-2-0 for the first time since 2015-16 when it had an identical mark through the first six games of the campaign.  
  • The blue-and-gold snapped a 10-game skid versus the Gulls.
  • The Rams defeated Endicott for the first time Jan. 28, 2022, a 3-2 victory.
  • Suffolk is now 3-16-1 all-time versus the Gulls.
  • The Rams bested the Gulls for the first time in the Shawn McEachern era, 1-8-0.
  • The blue-and-gold is now 2-9-1 when playing in Beverly, Massachusetts.
  • The three-goal margin of victory is the largest for Suffolk in the all-time series with Endicott.
