BOSTON – Suffolk men's ice hockey closes out its regular season this weekend with a Conference of New England (CNE) home-and-home series against Curry. The Rams host the Colonels Friday, Feb. 20 at 6:00 p.m., before traveling to Milton, Massachusetts for the finale on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 3:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk men's ice hockey rolled to its ninth straight victory in convincing fashion as it upended Western New England, 10-1, in Conference of New England (CNE) action Saturday night at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.  

Fifteen (15) Rams recorded a point in the team's 15th win of the season, the most triumphs 1992-93.

WHAT'S AT STAKE?

  • Suffolk enters the final weekend with 42 points in the CNE standings, sitting just one point behind Endicott (43 points) and six points back of first-place University of New England (48 points), while Curry sits fourth with 37 points. 
  • The top two teams in the CNE standings get a bye into the 2026 conference tournament. 
  • First-round league play will begin at the third and fourth seed's barns Wednesday, Feb. 25.

  • Suffolk enters the weekend riding a program-record nine-game win streak and is unbeaten in its last 10 outings.
  • The Rams have compiled the most victories at 15-7-1 since 1992-93 when it went 15-10-0 overall. 
  • In league action, the blue-and-gold boasts a 14-3-1 ledger, good for 42 points and third in the standings.
  • Suffolk continues to rank among the nation's best on special teams, sitting 10th in NCAA Division III on the penalty kill (.886) and 15th nationally on the power play (.250).

  • Marko Giourof leads the Rams with 30 points (13g, 17a), sits third in the CNE in scoring, and is 19th on the NCAA DIII list in points per game (1.36).
  • Alex Ondos earned CNE Rookie of the Week honors following a six-point performance and now has 17 points (5g, 12a) on the season.
  • Austin McNicholas was selected CNE Goaltender of the Week after going 2-0-0 a week ago to improve his numbers to a .906 save percentage and a 2.04 goals against average.

COLONELS CORNER

  • Curry enters the weekend at 15-7-1 overall after falling in a shootout to Nichols on Friday night. 
  • Gage Dill ranks fifth in the CNE in scoring with 24 points (11g, 13a).
  • Manny Cabral has 19 points (10g, 9a) and defenseman Jesse Galassi has added 18 points (7g, 11a).
  • Victor Daigneault is the leading playmaker with 14 assists on the season to pair with four goals.
  • Taurin Haddon-Harris (4g, 13a) and Killian Rowlee (12g, 3a) own 17 points and 15 points, respectively.
  • In goal, Cam Smith leads the rotation with a 1.93 GAA, .920 save percentage, and a 9-4-0 record.

WE MEET AGAIN
Suffolk men's ice hockey suffered its first Conference of New England (CNE) setback of the season Friday, Nov. 14, a 5-2 road defeat to No. 5/6 Curry.

For the third time this season, Suffolk men's ice hockey picked up votes in the U.S. College Hockey Online.com Division III Men's Ice Hockey Poll. 

The Rams received three votes, which marks the fifth time in program history the program has been recognized nationally.

RAMS RECOGNITION
Suffolk men's ice hockey swept the Conference of New England (CNE) weekly awards for just the second time in program history and the first since January 31, 2022 after a perfect 3-0-0 week. Nolan Leonard earned Player of the Week, Austin McNicholas was named Goaltender of the Week, and Alex Ondos was selected Rookie of the Week.
