RAPID REWIND
Suffolk men's cross country has been the conference's staple runner-up since joining the league ranks in 2021 and the Rams aim to race to the CNE's top spot this season.

Senior captain Hayden Green, a three-time all-league performer and 2024 U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-East honoree, looks to lead the veteran-heavy roster of six returners and two newcomers.

RAMS RINGLEADERS
Suffolk men's cross country will see a pair of Rams share the captain role as seniors Hayden Green and Sean Jacobsen have been named co-captains for the 2025 campaign by head coach Will Feldman.

Both Green and Jacobsen earned the title for the first time in their collegiate careers and mark the first duo captains since Tim Barry and Kely Maloney shared the role in 2023.

GEOGRAPHY 101
Over half of Suffolk's eight-man roster hails from the Bay State with five Massachusetts residents. Arizona, California and Virigina are represented by one student-athlete apiece.

CLASS CATEGORIES
Suffolk's eight-runner roster is very evenly distributed among the University's four academic classes with three seniors, a pair of sophomores and freshmen, respectively, and one junior.

COACH'S CORNER
Will Feldman returns for his ninth season at the helm of the Suffolk cross country and track & field programs.

He has brought the Rams to regional and national success in his time at the helm. His cross country highlights feature four women's conference championship, four individual appearances at NCAA Division III Championships and the University's first USTFCCCA All-American in cross country, Matyas Csiki-Fejer, who raced to the feat in 2021.

To aid Feldman on a full-time basis, the program added Associate Head Coach Kerstin Darsney in 2023.

Josh Brodin is back on Feldman's staff for his eighth season as an assistant coach, while former Rams Cole Bolduc and Justin Turner return for their third year as coaches. Amalia Dorion has joined the ranks this season as an assistant coach as well, after wrapping up her collegiate competition days last spring.

SUFFOLK SHORT COURSE CLASSIC

  • The Suffolk Short Course Classic is back after a year-hiatus, but in a new location, Mark Coogan Cross Country Course at Highland Park, in Attleboro, Massachusetts.
  • The Rams started the Short Course Classic in 2021 and made it an annual event through 2023.
  • The blue-and-gold's men's squad has posted a pair of third-place team finishes in 2021 and 2023, respectively, and looks to put together another podium finish in its 2025 season debut.
  • Matyas Csiki-Fejer had the best-ever showing of a Ram at the event with a runner-up finish in 2021 with a time of 15:41.
  • Tim Barry was the second-ever Suffolk student-athlete to run a sub-16:00.0 5k at the event. He clocked a 15:53.3, good for eighth in 2023.

THE COURSE
Suffolk will race at the Mark Coogan Cross Country Course at Highland Park in Attleboro, Massachusetts for the second straight season.

As a team, the Rams' men posted an average 5k time of 16:49 to finish sixth at last season's 10th Annual Wheaton & Babson Season-Opener. Individually, Tim Barry clocked a 16:08.2 5k to finish fifth in the field of 95.

THE FIELD
The field features a representation from NCAA Division I and Division III.

Holy Cross and New Hampshire will send their men's and women's teams, while their DI counterpart Northeastern will run on the women's side only.

Suffolk's DIII counterparts, meanwhile, will see two other men's teams in the regional rankings in Babson and WPI.

Bridgewater State, Clark, Emerson, Emmanuel, Manhattanville, Mitchell, Plymouth State, Smith (women), Springfield, UMass Dartmouth, Wheaton and WPI are set to compete on Saturday as well.

THE DISTANCE
Things will be kept short and sweet in the season debut. The women will run a 3k, while the men will compete in a 5k.

COACH'S QUOTES
"This should be a great men's field with two regionally ranked squads in WPI and Babson, along with several other very strong teams who have the potential to be top 10 in their regions by the end of the season," head coach Will Feldman said. "A top 10 finish for the men this weekend would be a positive outcome."
