Men’s Cross Country Takes Part in Saturday’s James Earley Invitational

BOSTON – Suffolk men's cross country will compete at the James Earley Invitational on Saturday, Oct.11, at Stanley Park in Westfield, Massachusetts. The Rams will be featured in the men's 8k race at 10:30 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk men's cross country grabbed 29th at the BluGold Invite Friday at the Whitetail Golf Course. 

The Rams secured 29th in the 34-team field that featured eight teams in the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association Top-30 with an average 8k time of 29:22.

THE HEATS
Suffolk will be represented by Eric Anderson as the lone runner in the men's 8k race. 

THE COURSE
Stanley Park features rolling terrain that challenges both endurance and strategy. 

THE COMPETITION
Suffolk's student-athlete, Eric Anderson, will face a competitive field of 23 teams at the event, including Conference of New England (CNE) opponents, Curry, Roger Williams, and Western New England, as well as nationally ranked Williams, who enters the race eighth in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) poll. 

RAMS TO WATCH
Eric Anderson's personal best 8k time came at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational back on Sept. 20, 2025, when the freshman came through the chute in 34:44:20.

RAMS REMIINISCE: JAMES EARLEY INVITATIONAL

  • The Rams will make their fourth appearance at the James Earley Invitational and its first since 2017.
  • Suffolk's highest team finish at the invite was 33rd, which occurred in both 2014 and 2015.
  • In 2017, Ilya Wilson posted the program's best individual time at the James Earley Invitational of 28:08:73 and the best placement of 48th.

Suffolk's next action will be at the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship on Saturday, Nov.1, at Gordon in Wenham, Massachusetts.
