LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk softball saw its five-game win streak come to a halt Sunday afternoon as the Rams were tripped up by Johnson & Wales in game two of a Conference of New England (CNE) double feature at Scots Miracle Gro Athletic Complex.

RAMS RUNDOWN

  • After splitting the doubleheader with Johnson & Wales on Sunday, Suffolk moved to 11-8 on the year and 2-2 versus CNE counterparts. 
  • The trio of Ava Lanza (22 hits, 12 RBI, 12 runs), Jolie Quintana (25 hits, 6 RBI, 15 runs), and Julia Mills (24 hits, 17 RBI, 15 runs) are the top three bats for the blue-and-gold, while Catherine Carignan has contributed a team-high 20 RBI, 18 hits and scored nine runs. 
  • Cynthia Rucinski (71.1 IP, 57 K, 4.42 ERA) and Lily Newhall (54.1 IP, 23 K, 3.61 ERA) split time in the circle for the Rams. 

SHARKS SAYINGS

  • Simmons has rattled off four wins in a row to carry an 8-16 ledger into Friday. 
  • Three different bats have produced 20-plus hits in Piper Kinney (28 hits, 9 RBI, 16 runs), Zoe Soule (25 hits, 14 RBI, 14 runs) and Abigail Carvalho (20 hits, 13 RBI, 10 runs). 
  • Emery Kreidel-Reimer (14 RBI, 7 runs) and Nevaeh Eth (11 RBI, 12 runs) have added 19 hits apiece. 
  • The Sharks have cycled through six different arms in the circle. Kinney has proven to be Simmons' ace with a 2.86 ERA over 73.1 innings pitched and 90 strikeouts.
  • Trinity Payne (7.15 ERA, 31.1 IP, 14 K) and Ally Hyde (10.50 ERA, 16.2 IP, 16 K) have started a handful of games for the Sharks as well.

  • UNE slipped to Endicott, 9-6, Wednesday to move to 6-7 on the year and 2-3 in CNE play. 
  • Emma Michaud is the biggest threat at the dish with team-leading numbers in hits (18) and RBI (11) to go along with six runs scored. 
  • Adrianna Carsetti (12 hits, 5 RBI, 7 runs), Hannah Irons (13 hits, 12 runs, 2 RBI), Zofia Twarog (10 hits, 7 runs, 7 RBI) and Tess Bolduc (10 hits, 9 RBI, 3 runs) add depth at the dish. 
  • Kara MacDonald (38.2 IP, 2.90 ERA, 22 K) is a usual starter in the circle. Mo Kinsella (18.0 IP, 3.89 ERA, 4 K) and Liv Arvidson (21.2 IP, 5.82 ERA, 8 K) are the other starting options for the Nor'Easters.
