BIDDEFORD, Maine – Suffolk women's ice hockey saw its 2025-26 season close Wednesday night as the fifth-seeded Rams fell to the fourth-seeded Nor'Easters of the University of New England at Harold Alfond Forum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The teams traded goals in the first period to keep things even at 1-all at the first intermission. UNE struck first as Kayle Taddia scored 2:50 into the action and Bella Schmidt responded for the Rams at the 11:41 mark on the power play. The junior had help from senior captains Jenna Caballero and Liliana Moose to tie the game.
- The Nor'Easters handled the middle period as they poured in three unanswered to put the blue-and-gold in a 4-1 hole.
- Less than two minutes into the third period Julia Holmes short-handed marker trimmed the gap back to two. Lily Abraham aided on the goal.
- UNE answered less than two minutes later to restore the three-goal margin and Hannah Humes put the game away with a strike at the midway point of the final period for the 6-2 final.
NETMINDER NOTES
- Katelyn Michals finished with 41 saves.
- Kyleigh Matola registered 19 stops.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Holmes and Schmidt scored one goal apiece.
- Caballero, Abraham and Moose added one assist each.
- UNE outshot Suffolk, 67-44, including a 47-21 margin in shots on target.
- The Rams went 1-for-4 on the power play and successfully skated off two penalty kills.
- Both teams scored a short-handed strike.
- The Nor'Easters won the face-off battle, 41-31.

- Suffolk competed in the postseason for the sixth time in program history and second straight season.
