SUFFOLK IN THE POSTSEASON

  • Suffolk is back in the league postseason for the second straight season and sixth time in program history. 
  • The Rams are competing in a conference tournament as the fifth seed for the second time overall and in as many seasons. 
  • Suffolk has advanced to both the semifinals three times, including last year, and championship rounds twice and captured the title once, in 2023. 
  • Suffolk is 5-4-0 in the postseason. 
  • On the road, the Rams sport a 3-2-0 conference tournament record. 
  • At home Suffolk is 2-2-0 in the conference playoffs. 
  • There have been two shutouts in Suffolk's postseason history. The Rams are unbeaten, 2-0-0, when a team is kept off the scoreboard in postseason play. 
  • Suffolk has never gone into overtime in the postseason. 

SUFFOLK IN THE CNE POSTSEASON

  • Suffolk will compete in its fourth CNE (formerly CCC) postseason.
  • The Rams are 3-2-0 in the CNE Tournament. 
  • The blue-and-gold is 1-1-0 in CNE Tournament tilts on the road, all of which came last season.
  • There has been one shutout in a CNE postseason game in Suffolk's history, the 2023 semifinals. Suffolk won that outing, 6-0, over the University of New England. 
  • The Rams are 1-1-0 in the first round of the CNE Tournament. 
  • Suffolk will compete in the CNE First Round for the second straight season and third time overall.   

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's ice hockey's regular-season finale and Senior Night was spoiled by the Wildcats as Johnson & Wales scored a late goal in regulation to tie it up and used just 1:43 of overtime to lock up the Conference of New England (CNE) contest away, 3-2, Saturday night at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.

RAMS RUNDOWN

  • Suffolk finished the regular season 6-17-2 overall and 6-10-2 in conference play to earn the No. 5 seed in the Conference of New England Tournament.
  • The Rams closed the regular season with a 2-1 win over Curry on Friday before falling 3-2 in overtime to Johnson & Wales on Saturday.
  • Liliana Moose leads Suffolk skaters with 17 points (5g, 12a) from the blue line.
  • Bella Schmidt has produced 14 points (6g, 8a).
  • Cassie Borowski has totaled 12 points (7g, 5a) from her defensive position.
  • Jenna Caballero also has 12 points (4g, 8a), and Laurel Potter has added 11 (5g, 6a).
  • Anya Nichipor rounds out the Rams' top contributors with 10 points (5g, 5a).
  • In net, Katelyn Michals has started 21 games, recording 875 saves and a .915 save percentage. She owns the second-best goals against average in the conference and has made the most saves in the league this season.

NOR'EASTER NOTES

  • The University of New England finished 10-14-1 overall and 6-11-1 in conference play to secure the No. 4 seed.
  • Amanda Forziati (6g, 8a) and Kaylen Taddia (3g, 11a) pace the Nor'easters with 14 points apiece.
  • Jamie DuPont (7g, 5a) and Adria Tebo (5g, 7a) each have 12 points on the season.
  • Kyleigh Matola has handled the bulk of the work in goal, posting a 1.73 goals against average and a .945 save percentage in 16 starts.

WE MEET AGAIN
The University of New England controlled the three-game regular-season series as it shutout Suffolk in all three outings, 4-0, 3-0 and 5-0.
