BEVERLY, Mass. – The sixth-seeded Suffolk women's soccer bowed out of the Conference of New England (CNE) tournament after falling in a penalty shootout 4-3, on the road to second seed Endicott on Wednesday evening. The Rams and Gulls played scoreless through regulation and two 10-minute overtimes for the ticket to the conference championship to be determined via penalty kicks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Suffolk's backline was tested early, as Avery Porter made a goal-line clearance in the seventh minute before Arden Rose followed with a diving save to keep the match level early on.
- Porter nearly broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute, getting her head on a corner that deflected off Samantha MacCormack's body before a Gull defender cleared the danger.
- Just before halftime, Rose came up big again, diving to her left to deny Sofia Agudelo's low driven shot toward the bottom corner.
- Suffolk was on the backfoot for most of the second half but denied Endicott of a true scoring chance as the match headed to extra time.
- Madeline Barbieri nearly ended it in the 96th minute, but her shot rattled off the crossbar to keep the game tied. Moments later, Rose came stood her ground, making a save with ten seconds left in the first overtime to send the match into a second extra period.
- Lily Goldmann represented Suffolk's best chance of the extra time periods as she drove down the right flank and placed a shot into the gloves of MacCormack which sent the game into a penalty shootout.
PENALTY SHOOTOUT
- Rose set the tone early with a save on Lily Miller, but Bria Baughman's opening attempt for Suffolk went wide left. Rose came up big again on Ella Morgan's shot before Daniela Petronio converted to give the Rams a brief advantage.
- Rhiann Dugan answered for Endicott to even the score, while Olivia Chamberlain calmly buried her attempt to put Suffolk back in front. Alyssa McColl responded for the Gulls, and Molly Knight followed with a confident finish to make it 3-2 Rams.
- Gabrielle Klindtworth then drew the shootout level at three apiece as Porter had the chance to win it for Suffolk, but MacCormack came up with the save to keep Endicott alive. Olivia Pardo converted in the next round, and Scarlett D'Amico's attempt went over the crossbar, giving Endicott the 4-3 victory in penalties.
KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS
- Rose recorded 10 saves through 120 minutes of action and stopped two shots in the penalty shootout.
- MacCormack finished with three saves in regulation and added one more in the shootout to help lift Endicott to the CNE Championship.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- Endicott outshot the Rams 21-4 and placed ten on frame to Suffolk's three.
