BOSTON – Suffolk women's volleyball looks to pick up its first win of the season when it hosts Mass Maritime for its home opener Tuesday, Sept 9. The opening serve from Larry E. Smith & Michael S. Smith Court is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Suffolk women's volleyball competed in the MIT Invitational over the weekend, falling in four sets to Conn. College on Friday night, before being swept by host MIT on Saturday morning at the Rockwell Cage.

RAMS RUNDOWN

  • Emmy Thomander leads the squad with 1.54 kps with Sami Shore trailing with 1.36 kps, on a .265 hitting percentage. Shore is a staple at the net defensively, however, with a team-best 0.71 bps. 
  • Aislinn Lanigan nearly averages 4.00 assists per set with to pace the offense with 52 assists. 
  • Kathy Mo and Chloe Clement, who adds 1.29 kps, have anchored the backline with 4.00 dps and 2.29 dps, resepectively.

BUCCANEERS BREAKDOWN

  • Mass. Maritime enters the matchup 1-3 on the season, splitting a tri-match this past weekend against Mount St. Vincent (W, 3-0) and Mitchell (L, 3-1).
  • Shayla Narodowg leads the Buccaneers offensively with 3.07 kps behind a .274 attack percentage. 
  • Maliah Servino provides stretch at the net on both sides of the ball with 2.14 dps and 0.93 bps.
  • Natalie Frasca and Narodowg split time as the Buccaneers setter with 3.79 and 3.07 assists per set, respectively.
  • Holly Sanders shines on the defensive end, managing 5.57 dps through four games. The freshman is also a threat from the service line with 0.86 aces per est.
