BOSTON – Suffolk women's soccer looks to stay unbeaten as it continues its season-opening road stretch at crosstown rival Emerson Saturday, Sept. 6. The opening kick-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Rotch Field.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk earned its second straight shutout to begin the 2025 campaign, defeating UMass Dartmouth (UMD), 1-0, Tuesday night at Cressy Field. Vivienne Murphy buried the game-winner in the 38th minute, marking the first-ever Suffolk goal scored at UMD. Rookie keeper Arden Rose was sharp in her collegiate debut, making seven saves to preserve the clean sheet.

RAMS RUNDOWN

  • Suffolk improved to 2-0-0 for the second consecutive season and is unbeaten through the first two games for the fourth straight year.
  • The Rams opened the year with back-to-back shutouts, the first time they have blanked consecutive opponents to start a season since 2023.
  • Lily Goldmann and Vivienne Murphy lead the team with one goal apiece.
  • Annabel Veale and Gianna Maina have provided the assists on Suffolk's two strikes.
  • Goalkeepers Jaiden Wilds and Arden Rose have each played 90 minutes and recorded one cleansheet. Rose stopped seven shots in her debut at UMD, while Wilds backstopped the opener at RPI.
  • The blue-and-gold have not conceded a goal through 180 minutes of play.

LIONS LOOK

  • Emerson also enters Saturday's matchup unbeaten at 2-0-0 after sweeping play at the Colby Sawyer Kick-Off Classic.
  • The Lions have outscored their first two foes by a combined 10-2 margin. 
  • Linae Bezedk and Kaylin O'Meara lead Emerson's offensive unit as they share the top spot on the team in points with six apiece. Bezdek has put away a team-best three goals, while O'Meara has handed out the most assists on the squad, four, and scored one goal herself. 
  • Hailey Forman has played both games in net for the Lions. She sports a 1.00 GAA and 0.667 save percentage. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk and Emerson have met nine times dating back to 2007 and will tangle for the first time in a decade with the last meeting coming Sept. 15, 2015. 
  • Suffolk trails the all-time series, 2-7-0
  • Suffolk's two victories came in consecutive seasons — 2010 (3-2 at home) and 2011 (4-2 away).
  • Suffolk is 1-4-0 in road games at Emerson.
  • Emerson has won the last three meetings from 2013-15.
  • The last matchup came Sept. 15, 2015, a 3-1 loss for Suffolk.
  • Four of the nine meetings have been decided by just one goal.
  • Suffolk has yet to record a shutout against Emerson, however, there have been two cleansheets in the series; Sept. 16, 2014 (L, 2-0) and the first-ever meeting, Sept. 22, 2007 (L, 6-0). 
  • This will be the first meeting between Suffolk and Emerson in the Ellie McDougall era.

RAMFEST

RamFest is part of Suffolk Weekend, which brings together the entire University community. The weekend is the perfect opportunity for members of the Suffolk community and their families to reconnect or get acclimated with Suffolk, reminisce with old friends, make new ones and enjoy beautiful Boston in the fall. Following Rammy's Fun Run, the family friendly fan fest festivities begin at 11:30 a.m. An afternoon of community, entertainment and school spirit is in store. Event highlights include: 

  • A variety of food trucks with local favorites
  • Live performances by Suffolk University's house band The Common
  • Men's and Women's Soccer Games – support the Rams on their Senior Days! 
  • Cornhole Tournament – register with a teammate to or get paired day-of 
  • Axe Throwing and Gladiator Joust for some friendly competition
  • Yard games and airbrush pennants to round out the fun

Tickets are required to participate in RamFest and grants you access to food trucks and activities at the fields throughout the afternoon. Alumni, family and friends can purchase their $20 tickets here.
